Brighton-based, Grotesque Art Punks The Ducks came to David Lawrie to mix their debut LP Enter The Cloaca. 

Frontman and songwriter Mark Meilack has been a long-time friend of David and Ishikawa, and it was a joy to work on this outrageous album.

At the time the band was a duo (it has since grown), and the challenge was to take the recorded elements and exaggerate every element.

All songs were recorded in live takes with minimal overdubs, and no click tracks. This presented many challenges, but also yielded a totally fresh and gritty production. It is a testament to their musicianship.

Due to the minimal nature of the arrangements, the whole album was mixed in six days, and was then sent to Andy Wilson for mastering.

We can’t wait to work with this insane band again!
