Meet David

DAVID LAWRIE - FOUNDER, COMPOSER, SOUND DESIGN EXPERT, MUSIC PRODUCER

David Lawrie is a multi instrumentalist, who started composing at a very early age. With a fascination in found-sounds and high-art music styles, along with contemporary popular music songwriting and production techniques, he studied as many facets of music production as he could. David completed his master's degree in Music Production at Leeds College of Music (focusing on studio based composition) with a distinction award in 2008.

After working extensively, writing and producing with and for various musical artists, as well as manipulating field recordings in his own music, it was only natural that he should expand his horizons to working in film. Scarlet View Media's 2015 film Of Shark And Man featured sound design, foley, and music composed by David. The success of the film catapulted him into a new level, and his unique approach to sound design and music production has been sought after ever since.

David has worked with a wide range of artists and companies, both big and small. Artists have included CocoRosie, EchoWants Her VoiceBack, Lucy Claire, Dale Jonathan Perkins, Vaughan King, and Vast and Harker to name just a few. Media and corporate clients have included GoPro, Absinthe Films, Progressive, and Scarlet View Media amongst others.

ANDY WILSON

MASTERING EXPERT, AUDIO ENGINEER, MUSIC PRODUCER

Andy Wilson has been a professional in the music industry for decades. Working up the ranks from being a tracking engineer in Nashville, all the way to being a Mastering engineer at the world renowned MasterDisk in New York City (and many musical stops along the way), Andy now operates as an independent Mastering engineer. His mastering company, Andy Wilson Mastering, has added the finishing touches to albums from independent artists, all the way up to major label releases. Andy and David Lawrie have worked together for a decade, and by extension, he is part of the Ishikawa family.

When working with us on your project, Andy is our first choice for mastering. Time and time again he has delivered stellar results, and all of our clients are blown away when they hear the finished product.

TIMOTHY GRAY

FIELD RECORDING EXPERT, GUITARIST, MUSIC PRODUCER, AUDIO POST PRODUCTION

Timothy Gray studied Audio Post Production under David Lawrie. Showing a great deal of skill across all aspects of the post production process, Timothy has a particular affinity for field recording. Immersing himself in nature, he strives to capture the world from all angles. During an in-depth audio post production job with Ishikawa Media, background sounds are in safe hands with Timothy.

As with the rest of the team, Timothy is an accomplished musician. An exceptionally skilled guitarist, Timothy's licks have been featured on a growing number of productions, across many different genres. Adaptability is one of Timothy's shining attributes, and his contributions to Ishikawa are incredibly valuable

DUSTIN SCHULTZ

COMPOSER, SYNTHESIS EXPERT, GAME AUDIO PROGRAMMER, LIVE SOUND AND LIGHTING ENGINEER, PRODUCTION MANAGER

Dustin Schultz is a multi-instrumentalist whose specialties are analogue and digital synthesis and saxophone. His work has been featured in countless art installations around the USA, and his skills as a musician have seen him brought into the touring band for Nivek Ogre's project, ohGr.

Dustin is also production manager for Nivek's more widely known band Skinny Puppy. Because of Dustin's unique blend of audio-visual skills, he has been a key part of pushing the Skinny Puppy's immersive live shows to the next level.

As a graduate of Mills College, Dustin has an MFA in Electronic Music and Recording Media.
